CAMRA at 40
CAMRA at 40 is a collection of essays by beer writers, brewing industry representatives and a host of others involved with the Campaign for Real Ale.
The book charts the campaign’s four decades of history and looks forward to the future of real beer in Britain.
Published November 2011
The Campaign for Real Ale is one of the largest and most successful consumer rights groups operating in the UK today, but it wasn’t always that way.
Founded by four friends in 1971, to preserve traditional cask-conditioned beer, the Campaign’s membership passed the 130,000 mark during its fortieth year, and is still growing healthily.
CAMRA at 40 is a celebration of this history, reflecting the Campaign’s breadth, the variety of views about its work and an assessment of how it might need to evolve.
