Good Cider Box  Gabe has selected six delicious examples and all of them which are real cider, made only with fermented apple juice, each is unique in its taste and character.   
  • Barleywood Orchard Cider – Our medium dry sparkling cider is made from a selection of traditional bittersweet and sharp cider apples. It is clean, crisp, fruity and easy drinking. Very refreshing and great with food.
  • Crafty Nectar No. 9 – No.9 is delicately smooth, bursting with juicy blackberry and vanilla notes. 100% Dabinett juice fermented with fresh Blackberries, infused with Hibiscus leaf. The age old fruit pairing, Apple and Blackberry revitalised by Hibiscus.
  • Nightingale Wild Disco – Wild Disco is a little bit different. A sparkling medium-dry Cider made from 100% wild-fermented Kentish dessert apple juice. (Discovery) some floral, red apple and rose aromas. Fresh and zingy on the palate with a clean finish.
  • North and South CiderFull Juice & Wild Fermented in the Highlands – 5% ABVApples used were 50% Dabinett & Yarlington Mill (Grown in Somerset) and 50% predominantly James Grieve and Katy along with a smattering of various unknown donated garden apples (Grown in the Highlands)Unpasteurised with no sulphites added, gluten-free and suitable for vegans.
  • The Orchard Project – Local Fox – a natural full juice cider wild fermented in small batches, and unfiltered and unpasteurised. We bottle condition to create a naturally sparking super tart and astringent cider with delicate aromas of citrus and raspberry.
  • Palmers – Ruperra -This medium sparkling perry is made from a blend of Betty Prosser, Blakeney Red, Thorn, Oldfield, Brandy and Winnalls Longdon Pears.
The Book: Modern British Cider Charting the development of Modern British Cider from the post war years to the present day this book opens up the landscape of cider production across Britain. Cider has begun to reach parts that others couldn’t imagine and this book will introduce the reader to cider producers across Britain and highlights their move away from some negative tropes that has often been associated with one of the oldest and most traditional of beverages.  This book would make a fantastic addition to the Cider tasting and will encourage you to discover more.
